Apex has just revealed the gameplay video trailer for Apex Legends: Escape and along with it the launch date. Apex Legends: Escape is the 11th season of the very popular squad-based battle royale game. Recently, the launch trailer was revealed confirming that Ash will be the latest Legend to join the roster. Now, a new trailer showcasing the gameplay and the map has been launched.
You can watch the full trailer of the gameplay below:
The video gives us a glimpse of the new map for Apex Legends which will be launching in their latest season. The map will be called Storm Point which is a tropical island with lush forests and pristine beaches.
New to this map are the Gravity Cannons. These new feature replaces the Jump Towers that you would normally see in any of the maps. In fact, only one Jump Tower is available in this map. The Gravity Cannons allow you to shoot yourself upward in a predetermined direction and it has a receiving point where you can land in its general area. Unlike Jump Towers, the Gravity Cannon gives you full control of your character, allowing you to shoot, or use your tactical abilities and Ultimate.
The map also showcases new fauna that you can also battle. There are prowlers, spiders and flyers. Each of these posing a deadly threat in addition to the other players that you are trying to get rid of. Each wildlife will provide you with rewards which will be the following:
- Smart Loot Drops: On death, Prowlers and Spiders have a chance to drop attachments and ammo for your squad based on your weapon loadouts, in addition to a few consumables and other goodies.
- EVO Points: A small percentage of all damage dealt to wildlife is rewarded towards your EVO Armor. This includes Flyers
- Crafting Materials: Clearing a Nest rewards a lump of crafting materials which are divided evenly among each squad member in the nest at time of completion.
The trailer also showcases the newest addition to the weapon inventory which is the C.A.R. SMG. This weapon that came all the way from Titanfall 2 is able to use both light and heavy ammo. This is the first weapon of its kind that has dual ammo capability which should be interesting to see once it gets deployed in Season 11.
