Game developer Nihon Falcom recently announced that a new title from the Ys series will be coming and it will be called Ys IX: Monstrum Nox.
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox coming to PS4
The ninth mainline title of the Ys series will have a darker theme compared to its predecessors. It is expected to launch sometime in 2019. It will be exclusively available on PlayStation 4. As of now, there are no other platforms that are announced.
Short background
The ninth title will actually take place in a land that is located north of Estoria in the Gria Eldigen region. Players will be in a place called Prison City and they will try to unfold the mystery surrounding Monstrum, or as they call it, people with otherworldly powers. The players will have the same supernatural abilities and will have to manage their own guild in the new city. Adol will be present in this title, but he will be missing in the beginning.
