Wolfenstein: Youngblood Co-op Feature Explained By Pete Hines

Wolfenstein: Youngblood twins

Bethesda senior vice president of global marketing Pete Hines revealed gave some information and explanation about the reason why Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a co-op game.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood co-op feature explained

The upcoming video game was recently revealed during Bethesda’s E3 2018 showcase. It features BJ Blazkowicz’s twin daughters. A lot fans were confused with the publisher’s reason for the co-op feature, but this time around during QuakeCon 2018, Hines revealed the explanation to a publication in an interview.

Hines said that they were going to continue different kinds of things for the series, and it’s all going to be based on what their developers want to do. In this case, they wanted players to play as one of BJ’s twin daughters and explained that the other one will be doing nothing. The other twin could also become an AI companion in that case. Hines said that if she’s an AI companion, there should be an option where another player can play as the other one.

The game is a co-op one, but it will be the same kind of game. It will not become any kind of a dramatic game because the players are going solo. Hines said that she is still there with them whether in AI or a friend. It will not change the whole experience at all.

Commitment to story-driven games

The executive clarified that Bethesda is still committed to story-driven video games. He did say that single-player and multiplayer experiences can co-exist for their game company. He clarified that they will not only make single-player games, but it will be one of those options for them.
