Game company Sony Interactive Entertainment recently announced that PlayStation Network ID names that look offensive will now be replaced instead of being banned.
PlayStation Network ID names to be changed if offensive
The first response from Sony was to ban the players if their ID names were deemed offensive and some players were complaining. This time around the company will just swap out the names with temporary placeholder IDs as a new response.
Just recently, the ability to change PSN Online ID for free just went live. As it was implemented, another part of it was this new response to offensive IDs that violate the PSN terms of service. Now the offending name will be replaced with the placeholder ID Tempxxxxxx.
