PlayStation Galaxy Asks is a weekly discussion thread about the games you played and the events (and controversies) of the games industry, not just limited to PlayStation-related topics. People have their own personal take on specific things, and it’s nice to read (and hear) your opinions. So, let’s start off with something simple: What are you playing this weekend?
Did you have a rough week at work today or probably from school? It’s the last day of the week and great games have recently launched, not just on PlayStation, such as Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2, Diablo III: Eternal Collection on the Nintendo Switch, FromSoftware’s Deracine on PSVR, and Overkill’s The Walking Dead on PC. If you just bought one of these games, especially Red Dead Redemption 2, then you’re ready for the weekend! Or are you probably going to play some web-slinging action and started a new adventure on Marvel’s Spider-Man with its New Game Plus feature?
I asked the team what they are up to this weekend. Apparently, it’s already expected that they have some games to finish and the others are working on their own backlogs of games:
What is Jem Sagcal playing this weekend? It seems that she’s still trying to complete My Memory Of Us on the PS4 so she can have her review out soon. But other than that, she’s going to play some NBA 2K19 for stress relief. “I’m getting past the backlog and finishing My Memory of Us to get the review finished,” she said. “During chill moments in the weekend, however, I’ll be playing NBA to finish off what I started and end my player’s rookie season. At the same time, it’s the most chill game on my library, so it’s a great stress relief for a career girl on the go.”
Jarren Navarette’s weekend is going to be full of tactical action and gore; he’s planning to play Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Friday the 13th, then a bit of Persona 5 so he can finally finish the story!
As for our Head of News, Christian Pepito, he’s ditching his PS4 to play some of his Nintendo Switch backlogs this weekend, and the shortlist is just… heavy. “I’m currently playing several backlog games actually,” Christian said. “Xenoblade Chronicles 2 because I want to get that last blade, Super Robot Taisen V because it’s another backlog, Valkyria Chronicles 4 because there are new DLCs coming, Diablo 3 because, hey, portable D3 gaming, Dead Cells because I really want to finally get those better weapons and unlock secrets.”
Our Co-Editor In Chief, Enricko Ozoa, is going to face some of the fiercest creatures in Dark Souls on his Nintendo Switch. He wants to enjoy his weekend through “frustration” and “agony”, he said and added that his “will is strong” and “shall not falter”. I wish him the best of luck!
In my library of games, I have tons of backlogs myself and I recently published my review of Red Dead Redemption 2 (click here if you haven’t read it yet!). I’m guessing my adventures in the New Hanover isn’t done yet, so yes, I’m still going to play Red Dead Redemption 2 over the weekend… and the boardgame I bought at ESGS 2018, Tomb of Annihilation (Dungeons & Dragons).
But most importantly, readers, what are you playing this weekend? Write those in the comments below!
