Hideo Kojima Explains Reason For Trademark On His Games

Popular game designer Hideo Kojima recently explained the reason why he would put his popular trademark tagline “A Hideo Kojima Game” on his games.

Hideo Kojima explanation reveals simple truth

The tagline was simply there because Kojima directed the game, but this is not something any gamer could see other others. Despite how big a key figure’s involvement in it, it was rarely seen that a lead director or a designer would be on the cover.

Kojima took to Twitter to explain the reason why he attaches his name to any game he makes in the first place. He revealed that it is how involved he is in the development process.

In the past, Kojima and his team was formed by only 5-6 people. There were many roles like creating the concept ideas, writing the story and specs, drawing the map on the graph paper, and so on and so forth. The reason why he had more involvement was his job of doing business management, producing, and promoting. Even though the team got bigger, his way of making a game did not change.

Kojima revealed that he was involved the game creation from upstream to downstream, hence the popular tagline “A Hideo Kojima Game.”

Death Stranding, the latest title Kojima is developing right now, will be launched on PlayStation 4. It will also have the tagline, and will be released on Nov. 8.
