Ghost Of Tsushima Creative Director Reveals Making Of Video

Ghost of Tsushima stealth

Sucker Punch creative director Nate Fox recently revealed a making of video of amazing upcoming Japanese historical video game Ghost of Tsushima.

Ghost of Tsushima making of video details

Fox revealed in their video how he and his team at Sucker Punch are working to develop an authentic and engrossing experience for everyone. It features the effort they are putting into historical accuracy.

The game is actually a depiction of the Mongols invading the Tsushima Island in 13th Century Japan. Fox stated that the events will not be a one-to-one recreation even though they are aiming to stay true to historical context. To accomplish authenticity, they are working closely with historians and experts.

Fox revealed that they actually made two trips to Tsushima Island. This was done in order to get the real deal before they transcribe it into coding.

Research for authenticity

In order to make this dream come true, the developers are now researching important details like how Samurai would wield their katana. They are also looking into the smaller details like how sake was drunk at that time. Experts of ancient Japanese dialogue and religious experts are there to advise them as well. Each step is an effort to make the place feel transportive.

Villains are important as well

Fox said that the villains in the game, the Mongols, should be addressed as well. Making them three-dimensional is an important thing to do to make it more immersive. He described the leader of the Mongols to be reasonable in a twisted way. This makes him a very unsettling opponent to defeat by the hero because he sees reason.
