Game director and creator Hideo Kojima is already discussing a sequel for upcoming video game Death Stranding in a recent interview.
Kojima wants sequel for Death Stranding but not sure on series
The mysterious video game is not out yet, but Kojima is already discussing what to do next with it after it gets released. He is thinking of a possibility for a sequel for it, but he is not sure if a series could be feasible at this time. This game is a start of a new genre, the Strand genre, as he calls it, and wants to make sure that it keeps going by making sure people are aware of it. This new genre will be about making connections, but does not entail its full description as of now.
Kojima stated this after being asked about making the game a series:
I’m not really sure.
When this game comes out there will be a lot of pros and cons, and [these elements could become the essence of the core part, but I think it’s better that I keep it going in a sequel.
Here’s his statement about making revisions of the game:
Yeah, probably at least 1.5, and then 2, maybe, at least so that it remains and people are aware of the genre. There are a lot of other projects that come up like TV dramas and things like that. A lot of pitches come my way.
Why I can’t say it’s definite is because I only have one body, and there are many projects that I have to be involved with. And it’s really tough for me physically to do many things at once.
The game will launch this coming Nov. 8. It will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4.
