Game developer CD Projekt RED recently stated that their upcoming futuristic video game Cyberpunk 2077 is now playable from start to end.

The game is not fully finished, not by a long-shot, but it can be played from start to finish without polish for now. It is still in some development stage that we do not know of, but the development team is assuring us that they have got the game working at least.
CD Projekt RED producer Richard Boryzmowski was the one to break the news to everyone at Gamescom 2018 in an interview with a certain publication. He noted that the game is playable from start to finish, but it does not have the proper assets, playtesting, or bug fixes in place. They only wanted to see that the story come together since it is a critical step in the development process.
The producer said that they are currently tackling cyberpunk as a genre. They want to explore the genre with a new bent. They classify cyberpunk as a genre that focuses on rebellion against the system like corrupt governments, big business, and societal construct. The game aims to tell a personal story.
Boryzsmowski said:
The punk part in cyberpunk stands not only for rock and roll and sex and drugs and whatever. It also stands as a fight against the system.
We want to always keep it personal. We don’t want to tell a story about rescuing the world. We don’t want to basically destroy the system… It’s not just another part in this cyberpunk-industry cliche machine.
There is still no clue when the game will be released or a demo will be launched. Hopefully, it will not be too long to wait.
