In a recent interview with CD Projekt RED level designer Max Pears, he revealed an interesting detail about Keannu Reeves’ role in upcoming video game Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 players can’t have Keanu
Pears revealed to the crowd at the recent event Tokyo Game Show 2019 that Keanu plays in the game, Johnny Silverhands will not be a potential romantic option. Despite his constant appearance in the game, as advertised, Pears clarified he cannot be romanced at all.
“Keanu plays a crucial role in the game, but as for the option to romance him, I don’t believe you can,” said Pears.
Tons of fans were a bit dismayed of this statement, but it does make sense. Some of those who agree that he cannot be romanced stated that he is just a chip in V’s head, so there is no way it can be done. Others argue that it should have been an option at least. Maybe they want to satisfy their fantasy of loving Keanu Reeves, even if it was just an in-game character.
Full nude sex scenes will be present
If it is not a consolation for the fans, CD Projekt RED will continue the tradition that some of their games have: fully nude sex scenes. Even though they did say that gender options were dropped, the character’s genitals will still be determined by the body type the players choose.
Pears confirmed that players can have a male or female voice for the body they choose, but body type will still determine the genitals.
Aside from this reveal, the level designer said that customization will be a big part of the game. He said that it is important that their players can customize all they want and match it with how they feel in the game. It is also part of the lore as well.
The game will launch on PlayStation 4. It will be available on April 16, 2020.
