Game publisher Activision recently announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has the biggest day one digital release and has broken a record.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 breaks record in publisher history

To be more accurate, the digital version of the video game actually broke the publisher’s record of having the largest digital sales for day one. This was claimed last year by the WWII title.

The publisher revealed that the game broke the global record for day one digital sales on the PlayStation Store. They also revealed that other platforms also got the same record. The number of people online also grew since last year’s release.

Vice president and general manager Rob Kostrich has this to say:

Black Ops 4 is an incredible game, and the community’s response to it has been amazing. We have shattered multiple digital day one sales records, and the number of people who connected online on day one to play has grown year on year. But probably the most important thing is that the community is having so much fun across Multiplayer, Zombies and Blackout. We are so incredibly thankful for the community’s trust and support. This is just the beginning, it’s going to be an incredible journey with Black Ops 4.

The game is now available on PS4.
