A recent leak about a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 revealing a possible promotional art and leading to the upcoming title was proven false.

There was a recent rumored leak of a promotional image that was shared on popular website Reddit. The image was titled First Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Promo Art Possibly Leaked. It showed the image on a folded graphic paper that gave the impression it was from a promotional content.

This unfortunate fake news spread like wildfire as tons of hopeful fans shared it right away. This included several influencers and other publishing outlets.

Unfortunately for them, several internet experts were able to quickly do a reverse image search and noted that the original image belongs to Rene Aigner. He is a concept artist who shared the image via his ArtStation account. He also gave a statement and said it was just a quick illustration built off of a base mesh.
So this leak was proven false before it could get worse.
