PlayStation Galaxy’s Best Games Of 2018: God of War

We are now in the year 2019 and everyone has expectations when it comes to what the gaming industry has to offer. However, let’s not forget that 2018 also gave us some of the most memorable and enjoyable games that we haven’t seen in a long time. It’s safe to say that Sony took the lead when it comes to providing consumers with what they want: a wonderful player experience that keeps them coming back for more. And one of the biggest titles that most can agree as the best of 2018 would be God of War for the PS4.

Back on December 7 of the previous year, we witnessed a plethora of awards being handed out for things such as best Esports moment of the year, best indie game, best musical score and so on. But amongst everything else, God of War won the title of game of the year. The decision shocked many as majority figured that Red Dead Redemption 2 would come out the victor. In my opinion, I was glad that God of War managed to claim the prestigious award.

The reason is that I have never seen so much love and care put into a game.

God of War Kratos

From the very moment you begin playing, you can feel that it’s different from most Triple-A titles. Everything from the environment to the character models looks as if they were finely crafted due to all the details the developers put into them. Not only that, but there is a sense of realism with all of the emotion that pours out from the game; you can actually feel the pain that Kratos goes through for not being able to tell his son about his heritage or the frustration of Atreus for not being good enough to meet his father’s expectations.

Not to mention that the gameplay is superb. Yes, most can argue that the ability to change the in-game difficulty at any given time can somewhat give a mixed experiencewith annoying puzzles and repetitive enemies also factoring into that. But even with all of which that has been mentioned, none can deny that God of War is exciting, emotional, engaging, and an overall good game.

Santa Monica Studio definitely proved to use that with enough time and effort put into development, a video gaming company can churn out an amazing masterpiece. If you are a PS4 owner and have yet to play this game, then I strongly suggest that you grab a copy as soon as possible and check out everything that it has to offer.

2019 still has a lot of games to look forward to, but one should never forget that 2018, even with all of its shortcomings, has provided us with some of the gaming industry’s finest. So here’s to God of War for giving what most people look for in a game: cherished memories.
