Castlevania Requiem Officially Announced As PS4 Exclusive

Castlevania Requiem Alucard meets young lady

After a few leaks and hints left over by several websites, Castlevania Requiem is now officially announced by game publisher Konami.

Castlevania Requiem includes two significant titles

Konami public relations specialist Tommy Williams recently announced that the collection will be coming to the PlayStation 4 exclusively. It will contain two popular Castlevania titles: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania: Rondo of Blood.

These two titles are actually closely related by characters and plot since Richter Belmont is the main protagonist in Rondo of Blood and he was present during Symphony of the Night. Alucard meets with him in his own journey in the latter title.

Rondo of Blood was originally launch in 1993 and was exclusive to Japan. It was known as the best side-scrolling, action games of its time. A lot of gamers and experts gave it praise for its level design and difficulty. Symphony of the Night launched on the west and was highly regarded as well. A lot of critics gave it high praise due to its visual prowess, difficulty, narrative, and the introduction of RPG elements.

Both games are in its original form and emulated for the PS4 with several updates to take advantage of the new hardware. This will include 4k/1080p upscaling, multiple high resolution backgrounds, different rendering options, and a full Trophy support. It will also make use of the DualShock 4’s vibration feature, analog stick, and speaker.

The collection can be pre-ordered right now on the PlayStation Store. It will be available via digital download on Oct. 26.
