After the backlash that BioWare, the studio behind the latest looter-shooter, Anthem, got from fixing a bug that improved drop rates of higher tier loots on Reddit, the community’s voice was heard. In this backend update, drop rates of Masterworks and Legendaries have significantly boosted.
A patch note via EA’s website cited Grandmaster Level 2 and Level 3 difficulties have increased drop rates of Masterworks and Legendaries. But that does not stop there, all high tier enemies across all difficulties have also increased its drop rates.
There were comments on social media that the drop rates indeed improve on GM2 and GM3 levels but only little for GM1 and lower.
Check the update below:
In the latest server-side update, we’ve made some notable changes to the loot drop rate in specific scenarios, which will take effect immediately in a server-side tuning update (you will not need to download anything.)
These changes include:
- Masterwork & Legendary drop rates have been increased for Grandmaster 2 and Grandmaster 3 difficulty levels.
- Masterwork & Legendary drop rates have been increased for harder enemies at all difficulty levels. This includes: Legendary Ancient Ash Titan, Elite Ancient Ash Titan, Legendary Fury, Legendary Ursix and Legendary Luminary.
It’s a big coincidence that BioWare and EA rolled out this update after The Division 2’s successful launch today. EA wants its Freelancers back to Bastion and away from Washington D.C, but with Ubisoft’s sequel to its looter shooter game getting more and more better media reception, Anthem’s future hangs in balance.
