Game publisher THQ Nordic recently acquired the intellectual property of Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning.

THQ Nordic acquisition another powerhouse move

The Austrian-based publisher has recently gotten the RPG IP and all of its assets from game developer 38 Studios.  The publisher proudly announces this via Twitter, which can be seen below:

38 Studios actually went bankrupt way back in 2012 after they released their fresh video game Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning. The sad thing about this is that the studio was frequently visiting both the bankruptcy court and the SEC suits. They were alleged to have done investor fraud in loans connected to their MMO that never got released: Project Copernicus. Even sadder still, they lost the IP rights entirely to the state of Rhode Island. The state might have had a hand in selling the game IP to the game publisher.

The publisher indeed got the assets from 38 Studios and it is curious if they also got Project Copernicus. The studio did not have any other games anyway.
