PlayStation Network Refund Policy Changed By Sony

Game company Sony Interactive Entertainment recently announced that they have changed their PlayStation Network refund policy for faulty games.

A new update for the refund policy was recently implemented, which made it easier for players to refund faulty games that are causing their consoles to crash. This was a quiet update with not notifications from sources and official social media accounts of the company. These updates include refunding a preorder so long as players have not streamed or downloaded it yet.

Players can also refund games up to 14 days after purchase or preorder if it is deemed faulty. This happened due to the reports of Anthem causing blue screens for some PS4 consoles and would require a rebuild of the database upon startup.

You can cancel a digital content purchase within 14 days from the date of purchase and receive a refund to your PSN wallet, provided that you have not started downloading or streaming it.

Digital content that you have started downloading or streaming, and in-game consumables that have been delivered, are not eligible for a refund unless the content is faulty.

You can cancel your purchase of a season pass within 14 days from the date of purchase and receive a refund to your PSN wallet, provided that you have not started downloading or streaming any digital content (e.g. game add-ons) included in the season pass.
