Onimusha: Warlords PS2 Classic Coming To PS4 Next Year

Onimusha: Warlords title

Game publisher CAPCOM recently announced that the classic samurai adventure video game Onimusha: Warlords will be coming to the latest PlayStation console soon.

Onimusha: Warlords returns

CAPCOM community manager Andy Wong wrote on the official PlayStation blog that the PlayStation 2 classic will be coming to the PlayStation 4 next year. It has been over 17 years now since the first game appeared on the PS2, which started all of the sequels and spin-offs. It also inspired other games that have the same spirit or gameplay. After two million copies sold worldwide on PS2, they are now releasing it on the PS4 with tons of new features that will enhance gameplay.

PS4 version updates

The PS4 version of the video game will have updated features. These updates will come as high-definition upgrades of characters, environments, and cinematics. It will also support both the original game’s display and the modern widescreen display and can be done at any time in-game, but certain menus will be fixed in place. The widescreen version will have a screen scroll feature that will allow players to see more of the fixed screens than ever before.

Characters in this game can now be controlled or moved by the analog stick, which will improve movement accuracy and accessibility. For those players who want to use the directional buttons, they can still use those if they want.

Easy mode will be unlocked at the start unlike in the original version, where it will be unlocked after failing a specific battle for a lot of times. Easy mode will be for players who may find the game too difficult to finish or just want to enjoy the story. After they begin the story, they cannot change the difficulty again, so they better choose properly.

The game will be launched next year, January 15, 2019. It will be priced for only $19.99. In North America, they can pre-order the physical version right now, but the digital version will be available at a later date. It will be coming to PS4.
