Game developer Treyarch recently released a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout trailer featuring the battle royale map highlights.

Treyarch studio design director David Vonderhaar discussed about the highlights of the Blackout battle royale map. Due to its unique design and its nature of being the largest map ever in Call of Duty history, it introduces some new gameplay elements. Verticality is now a bigger deal with the different elevations and tall buildings apparent in this mode, players can now base jump off of them. Vehicles allow players to navigate this big map with ease.

There are several highlights in this big map like Nuketown Island as Nuketown and the surrounding areas, Raid and Stronghold are just at opposite sides that allows players to snipe in between two separate maps, and the big construction site that allows battles going up to the top.

Nature of Blackout map

Blackout will be a battle royale mode that will be available in Black Ops 4. It will allow up to 80 players fighting on a slowly collapsing map until only one player remains. There was a beta mode that ran for only a few days, which was on Sept. 10 until Sept. 17. After the beta run, there were some changes made.

The video game will launch on Oct. 12. It will be available on PlayStation 4.
