Battlefield V Progression System, Battlefield Currency, More Detailed

Battlefield V Vehicle Rank Tree

Game developer EA DICE recently made a detailed blog post about Battlefield V progression system and other features in it.

Battlefield V new information

The recent blog post revealed EA DICE’s plans for the upcoming title. They are ensuring that there will be no premium pass for it and that all players will be able to experience the new chapters together. Tides of War will come with new maps, game modes, gear, and gameplay for players to enjoy.

Player progression and categories

The developers gave details on player progression that will unlock new items for their Company and will increase their ranks. This will have five categories, which are Career, Class, Weapon, Vehicle, and Chapter. With Rank increases, players will get rewarded with gameplay items that can help them in the game like weapons, attachments, and vehicles. There are also cosmetic items like weapon skins and gear that can change their appearance.

Rank increase

Career Rank increases with nearly everything a player does in the game and they can also assign titles like Private, Sergeant, and more. Increasing the Class Rank will depend on how often a player plays as a specific class like with the Weapon Rank and Vehicle Rank. Chapter Rank will increase if the player plays any game modes during the course of a Chapter like the Tides of War.

Check out the rank progression rewards:

  • Career Ranks reward Company Coin and vehicles for a players Company.
  • Class Ranks reward Combat Roles and also different weapons within a class.
  • Weapon and Vehicle Ranks allow Company Coin to unlock Specialization paths to improve weapons or vehicles.
  • Chapter Ranks will reward themed rewards that will be detailed at a later date closer to the launch of the Tides of War Chapter.

Battlefield Currency and Company Coin

In terms of economy, the developers also touched with the topics Company Coin and Battlefield Currency. Company Coin can be earned by progression of the game and completing Daily Missions and some Special Assignments. With this kind of in-game credit, they can either unlock Specialization paths for vehicles or weapons, or purchase cosmetics. Cosmetics for players are actually available from launch, but the vehicle ones will arrive in the first chapter of Tides of War.

Battlefield Currency can be purchased with real-world money and can be used only to purchase specific cosmetic items for a player’s Company. This will not be available at launch.

Other details are as follows below:

  • In Battlefield V, you progress by playing. The more you play, the more you’ll progress, and the more items you can unlock to outfit your Company.
  • When it comes to gear, there is no one right answer — only what’s right for you, your playstyle, and the needs of your squad.
  • There are two types of in-game currency. Company Coin is earned only through gameplay. Battlefield Currency is purchased with real-world money.
  • Battlefield V is made to reward how often you play and how well you play. You will never be able to use Battlefield Currency or spend real-world money to get anything that gives you an unfair gameplay advantage.

The game will launch on Nov. 20. It will be available on PlayStation 4.
