Christian 'Ace' was enamored playing games throughout his life. Mainly playing for the sake of playing you can find him enjoying the local pub and poking fun at NPC.

Is the gaming industry really doomed for another crash? In 1982, Atari released the now infamous E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. Avid gamers know what a debacle it was. For those who didn’t know, Atari was once a big name in the industry. But due to the bold yet unsubstantiated business move of releasing E.T. with less than two months of development time and banking on the commercial success of the film, Atari disregarded the strict timeline and quality was thrown out. This resulted to a major issue on the game itself that nearly destroyed the entire gaming industry before it…

Insurgency: Sandstorm relies on the same formula of the CS franchise of a squad or two on either side then would need to perform various objectives based on the game mode. But what makes it unique is the realistic style of gameplay. And heavy reliance on teamwork. As a solely multiplayer based game, no plot and story is given well as of the moment this review is being written. But the opposing side is the Security forces and Insurgents. Remember when we we’re playing Counter-Strike when it was released? Or playing CS:GO? We loved that squad based tactical shooting that…

First things first, Henchman Story isn’t the typical game that lets you directly control your character. This is due to Henchman Story being a text-based adventure or a visual novel. For a bit of context to those unfamiliar, text-based adventure is similar to an interactive movie. But in this case, an interactive story book. Now, many might be put off by the type of “game” that Henchman Story is due to it being an interactive digibook than a game. However, beneath it is a fun narrative which is a throwback to the 90’s style of comics and narrative. To start…

Sometimes it is nice to have a non triple A title to fall back to, something which isn’t that too popular yet delivers what it says and that something is Rescue HQ – The Tycoon. With all these Triple A titles that’s seemingly more common than a white loot at Borderlands, is rare to find a game that doesn’t under deliver on their promises in terms of gameplay, stability, and overall satisfactory. Rescue HQ – The Tycoon is a PC port that manages to be decent in terms of what it delivers and what it is. There is no over-the-top…

Along with remakes, another type of game seems to be returning from the 90’s is the FMV, or Full Motion Video and Bloodshore is one of them. What makes Bloodshore stand out against the other FMV Games? For the uninitiated, FMV is the genre of games that uses interactive video rather than program or models on its characters and even the set piece. Renegading to a simple yes or no choice for the most part. Bloodshore is a simple, satirical take on not only on the battle royale games nor the influencer culture we have but also on the society…

The story of Ultra Age follows Age, a warrior in the far flung future that is the typical “Earth-is-doomed-and-you-are-the-chosen-one-to-save-the-humankind!” scenario. That is the best way I can describe the plot of the game which is somewhat overdone at this point but I digress. So story wise, it is quite the usual thread of that post-apocalyptic theme but in the sense that instead of fighting for the Earth’s future, you are rather fighting for humanity’s survival which is a great diversion from the usual trope. The name of our hero reminds me of Edge Maverick of Star Ocean in a sense…

A new IP from Odd Bug Studio, Tails of Iron is a beautifully hand-drawn 2D RPG and it is shown on the details on both the characters and animation down to the environment. This reminds me of Valiant Hearts which is another beautifully hand-drawn 2D adventure. The story follows Redgi, heir to the Rat throne. Their land is scarred by an eternal struggle for peace and prosperity of their kin. Which is being terrorized by the frog clan who serves as the main antagonist of the story. The gameplay is akin to that of Metroidvania with a combat mechanic of…
